One of the most common reasons I hear in favor of SUVs is that since they sit high you have a better field of vision.
In the last 4 weeks I’ve been taking the first step towards getting rid of one of our two cars. This step was a trial run in not using my car. It has been sitting for just shy of two weeks.
It is now only occasional that I drive my wife’s Toyota Yaris. The other day I was having a really difficult time seeing around a monstrosity of a Nissan Armada. Then a cyclist rode by. It dawned on me their head was a full two feet higher than mine while sitting in the car.
The moral here is that if you are considering buying an SUV so you can see around traffic, then buy a bike instead.
